When you are going on any hiking trip a hydration bladder system is the best way to go for hydrating yourself. Stopping and reaching for a canteen or bottle is not nearly as efficient as having a tube and mouthpiece right at your convenience to hydrate and cool you off during a hike. I purchased a CamelBak Unbottle 100oz hydration pack 3 years ago and have nothing but good things to say about it. I have never had any leaks or punctures in the bladder and it fits nice in any pack that I have used. The only thing I would recommend to do is clean it out once in a while with boiling water and run it through the tubes. Make sure you keep the mouthpiece clean as bacteria can grow if unattended too. I payed around $30CDN for this hydration pack and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
